Questions?

Reach out to us at (971) 337-6352

Symptoms Include

  • Pelvic, groin, tailbone, or sit-bone pain (including chronic pelvic pain syndrome)

  • Urinary urgency, frequency, leaking, or a slow/hesitant stream

  • Bowel dysfunction, straining, or pain with sitting

  • Erectile dysfunction or pain with ejaculation tied to pelvic floor tension

  • Recovery after prostate surgery (prostatectomy), including leakage and control

What Treatment Can Look Like

Targeted pelvic floor training: strengthening, relaxing, or re-coordinating depending on what your exam shows — plus manual therapy, postural and deep-core integration, and practical education to improve bladder, bowel, and sexual function. Men are just as susceptible to pelvic floor dysfunction as anyone, and it responds well to the same skilled, individualized care.

The Role of Pelvic Floor Therapy in Male Pelvic Health

Men have a pelvic floor too, and it governs bladder control, bowel function, sexual function, and core stability. These muscles are frequently overlooked in men, which is why pelvic symptoms can drag on for years before anyone names the cause. Pelvic floor therapy directly addresses that gap. For leakage after prostatectomy, pelvic floor muscle training is a widely recommended part of recovery; for chronic pelvic pain syndrome, hands-on and down-training approaches are typically our go-to.

How Pelvic Floor Therapy Helps

Many male pelvic complaints including pain, urgency, sexual dysfunction, come from a hypertonic and weak pelvic floor. We perform manual therapy to help release tender, restricted muscles, retrain the muscle strength for bladder and bowel coordination, and connect the pelvic floor to your diaphragm with breath, proper and core so the results hold up in daily life and training.

When to Begin

At the first sign of pelvic pain or bladder, bowel, or sexual changes. When surgery is planned, "prehab" can speed recovery afterward, so see a therapist before your procedure and when your surgeon clears you to come back. Don't wait until your symptoms are severe - we are here for you!
